Psalm 84:10

Psalm 84:10 Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

I second that, Lord God. For that’s what’s most important in life – that by believing in your Son, I will spend eternity with you! But things in life can distract me, be it my work, my family, my problems, my successes, or even my self. When I am being distracted and/or misled, open my eyes to see clearly what is happening. Help me to refocus and to spend more time throughout the day “in your courts” talking to you in prayer and/or taking a few quiet moments to think about your love and power. Remind me how comforting and uplifting this will be considering how busy and challenging my day will be. With your heavenly courts in sight I ask for strength to remain faithful to and focused on you, O Lord. Amen.
