Psalm 73:25

Psalm 73:25 Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you.

O Lord, what does this world have to offer? Nothing! My job, my money, my success, how much people respect me and compliment me – none of these things matter if I don’t have you. Yet I’m often consumed by them. Work, money, drive for success and respect, these things lead me to look for fulfillment in them rather than in you. These are empty. They will fade and disappear. You won’t. Nor will your blessings. Your forgiveness and righteousness given to me through Christ last forever. They guarantee me life forever in heaven! Therefore, I say, “But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds” (v. 28). Amen.
