Genesis 12:1,4 The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you…4 So Abram left, as the LORD had told him…
O LORD, Abram moved sight-unseen. You, the same LORD to whom I am now praying, told Abram to up and leave his homeland and travel to a distant country where he had never been. What a picture of faith! For faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see (Heb. 11:1). Chase away my doubt and distrust that surfaces when I can’t see how things will play out in my life. Through your Holy Spirit and your Word, give me the faith of Abram that trusts you even when my logic tells me otherwise. For just as with Abram, you will deliver on your promises, not sometimes, but all the time. Amen.
