Isaiah 42:5

Isaiah 42:5  This is what God the LORD says— he who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and all that comes out of it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it.

O God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, how can I not pause and listen attentively every time you speak to me through your Word.  Why?  Look at what you did!  You not only were the Constructor, you were the Planner, the Designer, the Architect, the Builder, the Life-Giver…  So when you speak, how can I not listen?  Yet I don’t always.  Instead, I listen to lies.  “You need to worry… you should hold a grudge… it does all depend on me… it does need to be perfect… I am entitled to it…”  Help me see the lies I believe.  Forgive me when I do. And because your Son rose from the dead, proving that I am forgiven and that everything you say is true, help me combat the lies with your truth.  So give me a good listening ear that attentively hears and wisely applies your Word to my life.  Amen.
