Isaiah 40:28-31 The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
O Everlasting God, you are so much more than “capable.” I say this because sometimes (at best) I think and act to the contrary. How? When I worry and stress out. For when I do I’m saying, “You are less than capable.” These verses remind me of how untrue that is. You are everlasting. You are all-powerful. You are all-wise. This never changes because your Word stands forever (vs. 8). Therefore, as a forgiven redeemed child of God bought by the blood of Jesus Christ, when tempted to worry and stress, I will recall these truths: you are loving, powerful, wise, unchanging… And trusting in them I will face the day in peace and joy. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
