1 Peter 1:18-19 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ…
Lord Jesus Christ, how special I am! I look at the sums of money that people pay for things: the millions owners pay to buy athletes, or the billions spent buying global businesses. And yet, I’m worth more than that. O, I don’t always feel like it. Instead I believe that my value and self-worth are defined by my status, my reputation, or how others view me. How empty! For undoubtedly I will fail and disappoint. But your love never fails me. You didn’t just slap some money down to make me yours. You laid down your innocent life for me and gave me your righteousness. Daily may that truth give my life its real joy and satisfaction that no matter what others may think of me, I know and rejoice in this truth: I am special to you because of you. Amen.
