1 Peter 2:3 …now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.
O Lord, I have tasted your forgiveness, the sweetness of your love that daily pardons me of all my sins, even those that make me feel so guilty and ashamed. I have enjoyed the delicacies of your promises that comfort and encourage me, even in the darkest moments of my life. Yes, I have tasted that the Lord is good! Yet, I have to admit that I don’t always savor your goodness and love. Instead, in my doubt and despair, my taste buds become dulled to the rich flavor of your love and promises laid before me each day in your Word. I’m sorry. When I’m brought to that point, lead again me to feast on that bountiful banquet of your promises and love that I sing in my heart and with my life today, “O, taste and see that the Lord is good!” (Psalm 34:8) Amen.
