Nehemiah 8:10 The joy of the Lord is your strength.
O Lord, there are many things in life that give me reason to feel discouraged and dejected. One of those things is my own sin and guilt. Daily I’m reminded that I not only fail to be the person you want to be, but I fail to be the person I want to be. Yet the joy of the Lord is my strength. While you should have blotted me out of the book of life, you blotted out my sins with Christ’s blood and wrote my name in the book of life. Because your joy is my strength, your power means I am protected; your promises give me strength; your faithfulness is the foundation of my faith and hope; your wisdom gives me guidance; and your grace is my salvation. So when I feel discouraged and dejected, deepen my joy and my strength as I remember, the joy of the Lord is my strength! Amen.
