Ecclesiastes 2:11 NIV

Ecclesiastes 2:11 Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun.

Dear Jesus, “What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his own soul? (Matt. 16:26) Nothing. Yet I know there are times when I get so caught up in my life, in being successful, in making a good name for myself that I lose sight of what is important – my faith in YOU. And so I pray that you help me keep everything in perspective. If that means disciplining me, discipline me. If that means taking away some of my physical possessions, then take them away. If that means keeping me from success, then do so. Whatever it takes, help me keep everything in perspective that I remain faithful to you until life ever-lasting. Amen.
