Psalm 74:15-17 “It was you who opened up springs and streams; you dried up the ever-flowing rivers. The day is yours, and yours also the night; you established the sun and moon. It was you who set all the boundaries of the earth; you made both summer and winter.”
O Heavenly Father, from my lowly perspective it’s easy to think that at times I’m in control of my life. Yet, when I see that control slipping from my hands, I tend to overreact; grow harsh; become angry, frustrated, and more demanding; and make other attempts to regain the control I thought I once had. As I read these verses, I’m reminded that I’m not in control. This is good because you know what’s best for me. In your strength and wisdom you work in spite of my many mistakes. You righted my wrongs through Jesus’ death on the cross, and you continue to work good out of bad situations. Fill me with the peace of this knowledge. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
